In the last few days the Government has backed the One Somerset model of local Government reorganisation. This will mean that four District Councils and Somerset County Council will be replaced by a new unitary local authority. This will mean the next local elections will be held in 2022, when residents of Yeovil and the whole of Somerset will be given the opportunity to vote for their new Unitary Councillors.
We are looking for candidates who want to represent their communities.
As a councillor you can make a difference to the lives of those who elect you, and the places you represent. Councillors help transform their neighbourhoods and improve local public services.
Being a councillor also allows you to develop your own skills including critical analysis and problem solving; public speaking and debating; diplomacy and consensus-building.
