Connor became Chairman of the YCCA (Yeovil Constituency Conservative Association) on Friday, 12th December 2025. Alongside his role as Chairman, Connor is also a Somerset Unitary Councillor representing Chard South (covering Chard, Tatworth, Forton & Chilson Common). Connor works as a UQ KS3 History Teacher at a Secondary School in Chard, Somerset. He sits on the Blackdown Education Partnership Local Governing Committee for Holyrood Academy. He used to work for Greenslade Taylor Hunt, a variety of local cafes and restaurants as a teenager, and initially started off as the village paper-boy and skittles sticker-upper. Born and raised in our community, he knows exactly how to represent the views of our Yeovil Constituency residents, businesses, and specialist communities/industries.
Connor joined the Conservative Party in October 2019, in the lead-up to the December 2019 General Election. He has campaigned at local, national, and PCC elections since. Working for the Somerset Grouping of Conservative Associations as a Campaign Co-ordinator from July 2020 to October 2021. He stood for Chard Town Council in 2021, and Somerset County Council in 2022. He also sits on Somerset Council's Licensing & Regulatory Committee.
In his spare time, Connor enjoys running, painting, cooking, and travelling. He recently completed the Ham to Lyme 50K Trail Ultramarathon.
His key achievements are:
- Securing better transport for Chard and surrounding villages.
- Fighting against poor, longstanding roadwork disruption in his division.
- Supporting over 2,000 families in his division.
- Promoting the interests of residents on local and national levels.
- Saving a local Care Home from closure in early 2024.
- Reporting back to local Town and Parish Councils.
- Delivering for the residents of Chard South, every day.
Connor will be Chairman until our Annual General Meeting in March 2026, where he is required to stand for election as Chairman again.
